Learn From Anywhere is dedicated to the principles of academic honesty, integrity, and charity. We exist to foster these principles in an interactive learning environment where our users can feel safe, secure, and excited about their experience. So, “acceptable use” is really quite simply stated. If you are here to develop courses, teach, or learn in harmony with these principles, then your use of this site is welcome and “acceptable.”
Of course, there will always be those few that will attempt to muddy the waters. Because of this sad fact, we must now express our “unacceptable use” policy. If you engage in any of the following activities, we reserve the right to terminate your account without notice, and you will not be issued a refund for any fees paid.
If you believe that you are the victim of any of the following activities, or you know of any abuses that are taking place, please immediately inform your Teacher on this site, the Course Creator, or the site Administrator.
1) Abusive behaviors: profanity, “flames,” bullying, racial slurs, sexual innuendos, or other such abusive/intimidating tactics. We will not tolerate interactions between users that detract from the safe and enjoyable learning environment we have established here.
2) Inappropriate use of information: using information about others gathered from this site to make undesired contact, engage in “stalking,” solicitations of any kind (commercial or otherwise), or any other form of contact that is not in harmony with the purposes of this site and the principles noted above.
3) Advertising or commercial activities: using or externally linking to or from the resources of this site for unauthorized commercial purposes. As just one example, we will not tolerate forum posts offering items for sale or links to external products/services.
4) "Hacking" or other site-abuse efforts: Attempts to gain unauthorized access to this site or the underlying server(s) are violations of U.S. Federal law. So-called "DOS" attacks are also violations of the law.
5) Cheating, plagiarism, or other forms of academic dishonesty: While Learn From Anywhere does not actively monitor student content, if a Teacher or Course Creator informs us of such incidents, we reserve the right to comply with account-termination requests in cases of flagrant academic dishonesty. We are not the "watchdogs," but we will support legitimate requests from Course Creators and Teachers.
6) Now, the "catch-all" policy: Think about how your use of this site affects others. If you treat others with courtesy, dignity, and respect in the context of academic integrity and a desire to contribute to a safe and exciting learning environment, then there will be no problem. If you intentionally violate these principles, then there will be a problem.
